CFD ANALYSIS

Computational Fluid Dynamics is a discipline that allows the designer to predict the hydrodynamic and aerodynamic behaviour of a vessel and all its appendages with a very high level of accuracy. These services can be provided with the use of a CFD solver and have become an industry standard and are nowadays often replacing a big part of the work which was usually carried out in towing tanks.

The most common services CFD is used for speed and power estimation, flowlines visualization, appendages alignment, vessel in service optimization and assessment of the rolling period and sea keeping verifications. These CFD applications are the most common in the marine industry however its use can be extended to other design optimization and control.
